Graphing and Solving Quadratic Equations

In general, solving a quadratic equation means to find the x values that, when substituted back into the equation, cause it to equal zero.   The graph of the parabola will cross the X axis at these x values.  Next you find the coordinates of the vertex of the parabola.   Finally you trace the curve defined by these three points.

The quadratic equation is the equation of a parabola.  Solving a quadratic equation is covered in Quadratic Equation.

Plotting a parabola is covered in Parabola.
