Line Segment:  the shortest path between two points Q and R. We visualize this segment as a trace without bends, that is drawn straight between Q and R. Infinitely many points exist along this path. A line segment is named by its endpoints. A line segment is named by its endpoints with a line over the top:

Line:  a line segment that continues indefinitely before Q and after R. Infinitely many points exist in a line. A line is named by two points it contains with a kine with arrows on each end over the top:

Ray:  a line segment from Q to R, starting at Q but continues indefinitely after R. Infinitely many points exist in a ray. A ray is named by two points with a single arrow line over the top:
